We stayed in a small double pod for two nights, pleasantly surprised by the ample space and comfort. The provided earplugs were much appreciated due to the thin walls. you can definitely hear your neighbors. Enjoying dinner around the irori fireplace was a highlight, creating a warm and communal atmosphere. Location is fantastic for exploring Hakone, especially with the nearby onsen and popular attractions. However, finding an onsen that permits tattoos was a bit tricky, with the nearest public one requiring a 45-minute bus ride. The facilities were all great, but the lockers in the dorm need to be bigger to accommodate larger luggage comfortably. I wished I had known to bring additional meat for the BBQ, as the food options could’ve been better for the price. Overall, it was a cozy and inviting experience, perfect for meeting other travelers.

Super clean facilities despite a few minor quirks, like the vintage toilet. The communal areas invite conversation, perfect for mingling with fellow travelers in a cozy atmosphere.
Could really use a refresh—some rooms feel cramped and outdated. Thin walls make it tough to snooze with noise from next door, and basic showers lack any modern flair.

Dinner around the irori fireplace was a blast, and the nearby sushi spot, Kappei Sushi, serves the freshest catch. The comfy communal area was perfect for swapping travel tales and unwinding after a day of sight-seeing.
While the atmosphere shines, I was a bit bummed about the thin walls and a mattress that felt like sleeping on pancakes. Plus, make sure to book the irori dinner way in advance since it's pretty exclusive!

Loved the unique, cozy room and the delicious dinner experience around the irori fireplace! The relaxing communal area was perfect for kicking back, and the shared kitchen had all I needed for breakfast. Just a heads up, it was a bit noisy at times, but that didn’t dampen the vibe at all. 😊
